Arrowood Vineyards
California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. Located on a hillside just outside the town of Glen Ellen, overlooking the Sonoma Valley, Arrowood Winery is the real life dream of Richard Arrowood and his wife and partner, Alis Demers Arrowood. Completed in 1987, the winery is modeled after a New England farmhouse. With its winemaking services hidden from view, the building sits in ideal harmony with the surrounding countryside. The facility was designed to harmonize the main winery building and is situated next door, cradling the estate vineyards below. The bright and airy tasting room opens into a wraparound veranda, which overlooks the vineyards and the rolling hills in the distance.
The winemaking philosophy at Arrowood is simple that is to produce classic varietals wines using grapes fully from Sonoma County's diverse viticulture areas such as Russian River Valley, Alexander and Dry Creek Valleys or Sonoma-Carneros. Arrowood was founded in 1986 by Richard Arrowood and his wife and partner, Alis Demers Arrowood.
Arrowood wines are skilled from grapes grown completely in prominent vineyards throughout Sonoma County's many sub-appellations. Each sub-appellation contributes an exceptional character to the grapes that represent the soils and climate of that region. The making of wine is dependent upon the land from which it comes, the weather and soil in a particular location and the winemaking techniques. Each individual at Arrowood plays a significant role in creating their distinctive wines. It is due to the relationship between their people, their land, the seasons and the weather, that the wines they create belong in the company of the great wines of the world. Arrowood wines is one of the famous wineries in California.
