Buena Vista Winery
California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. California is also the home of wine producing regions such as Santa Barbara and Northern California's Wine Country. Buena Vista Winery is one of the California’s leading wineries that has grown through excellence and quality of wines offered. Founded in 1857 by Count Agoston Haraszthy, Buena Vista is California’s oldest premium winery, and its history is as colorful as it is proud. Just outside the town of Sonoma, the original winery is now a California Historic Landmark. The company offers various branded wines including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carneros Quartet. These extraordinary wines express the essence of the Carneros wine region. In 1979, Buena Vista Winery began investing in vineyard land from the then up and coming Carneros region. Strong confidence and assurance to the quality of the Carneros region paved the way for today's remarkable Buena Vista Carneros wines. Presently, the working winery is located in the heart of Carneros, and Buena Vista is the largest landowner in Carneros, investing in new rootstock clones and a new winemaker are helping to ensure Buena Vista’s rich tradition of world class wines endures another 150 years.
Winemaking at Buena Vista Winery Vineyards in Carneros is a dynamic process where diversity is created by tailoring vinification and cellar practices to the individual vineyard lots. Nevertheless, there is a crucial process that defines their idealistic approach and establishes a reference for maneuvers exclusively suited to each fermentation lot. Buena Vista’s goal is to extract and retain all of the color and flavor that is delivered in the grapes with quality taste that soothes the mind.
