California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. The four largest cities are Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco. California is also the home of and wine producing regions such as Santa Barbara and Northern California's Wine Country.

In 1991, Cline Cellars winery relocated from Oakley to the Carneros region of Sonoma County on a historic 350 acre estate with new vineyards and facilities. While much of the cool Carneros region is planted to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot, Fred Cline pioneered the planting of Rhone varietals including Syrah, Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne. In 1997, Cline ventured further west into an even cooler growing area in eastern Petaluma and again planted more Rhone varietals.

Cline Cellars winery offers wines like Oakley four whites, Pinot Grigio, Viognier Sonoma coast. In 2004, Oakley four whites well chilled as an aperitif with appetizers such as ripe tomatoes and fresh mozzarella drizzled with your best extra-virgin olive oil or seafood dishes and citrus salads.

The Pinot Grigio grape for this wonderful blend comes from their Sonoma Coast and Sonoma Carneros vineyards. Both are cool growing locations that yield grapes with strong tropical and peach flavors. The Chardonnay also comes from these same vineyards. Grapes hang on the wine a long time to achieve full ripeness and maintain crisp acidity. Viognier is sensitive to its surroundings. Vineyard managers must keep a watchful eye and grapes are late ripening and have to be picked at just the right moment. It planted in their Sonoma Coast vineyards, the grapes are bathed in early morning fog and later warmed by the afternoon sun. The soil is rich with minerals and rarely needs irrigation.

As a Pendulum Club member, you may also specify whether you would like to receive only red wines or both red and white wines.
