Cooper-Garrod Vineyards

Cooper-Garrod is a family owned and operated 28-acre estate vineyard and winery specializing in the Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Viognier varietals and their own Bordeaux-style blend, R.V.'s Fine Claret. Located above the village of Saratoga on hillsides in the eastern Santa Cruz Mountains, the vineyards capitalize on the sunny days, moderate nights and long growing season which bring this appellation due appreciation for world class wine production.
Their tasting room, the Fruit House, is open seven days a week and is perfectly situated to be your gateway to discovering the wines and wineries of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Their equestrian center, Garrod Farms Riding Stables offers horseback riding daily on trails with panoramic views of Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay. They have picnic and special event facilities in addition to wine tasting as well. Cooper-Garrod has been producing award winning wines since 1991.
Their Syrah wine is from their newest vineyard and aged eleven months in French Oak. The wine pours a deep, purple-red in the glass and leads to violets and dark-fleshed fruit in the nose. With the gamey quality you like in Syrah, it is very nice served with wild meats and heartier dishes.
All their vineyards are located on 120 acres above the village of Saratoga that have been in the family for over 100 years. Total vineyard acreage is 28 including eleven Cabernet Sauvignon, five Cabernet Franc, five Chardonnay, four Syrah, two Viognier and one Merlot. Cooper-Garrod Vineyards has won several awards in the past including gold, silver and bronze medals. Their wineries and vineyards are admired wedding and reception venues. Cooper-Garrod Vineyards is one of the famous wineries in California.
