Curtis Winery

Since 1995, Curtis Winery has built a status for wines of quality and distinction, with a prominence on the authentic expression of vineyard and vintage. Under the guidance of Winemaker Chuck Carlson, Curtis Winery is solely committed to the crafting of Rhone-style wines. They are inspired by the amazing terrain of Santa Barbara County’s Santa Ynez Valley, which is today recognized as one of the world’s leading appellations for Rhone varietals.
Their wines hail primarily from their estate vineyards in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley, with contributions from select local vineyards. Their Ambassador’s Vineyard was planted in 1990 as the keystone of their estate. Their Crossroads Vineyard followed in 1997, and is now recognized for producing one of the region’s most acclaimed Syrahs.
Estate vineyards are the foundation of their winemaking program. Their two estate vineyards, Ambassador’s Vineyard and Crossroads Vineyard are guided by winemaker Chuck Carlson, who carefully selected clones, rootstocks and trellising to match the unique conditions of each site. The resulting wines are distinguished in both quality and individuality.
Inspired by the pleasant table wines of the southern Rhone Valley, their Heritage Series offers unique, flavorful cuvees for everyday enjoyment. These wines hail from small vineyards along California’s Central Coast, where Rhone varietals shine amid the coastal Mediterranean climate. Their Heritage Series wines are broadly acclaimed for offering outstanding value and quality.
