EOS Estate Winery

California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. The four largest cities are Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco. California is also the home of and wine producing regions such as Santa Barbara and Northern California's Wine Country.

The EOS Estate Winery was established in 1996, by the Arciero Family, the Vern Underwood Family and Kerry Vix the general manager. Their winery is named after Eos, the name given to the Goddess of the Dawn in Greek Mythology. Eos was the inspiration for harvesting their Estate winegrapes before or after the sunrise, to keep the fruit cool and help retain fresh varietal character. The classical Greek mythology theme of the winery echoes not only a commitment to traditional winemaking techniques, but helps keep the focus on artistic quality instead of formula winemaking.

EOS Estate Vineyards has two primary soil groups in their terraces. The first is the Arbuckle-Positas-San Ysidro group, which is characterized by deep, nearly level to hilly, well drained and well drained fine sandy loams, coarse loams, and loams. The second group is the Nacimiento group. It is characterized by deep, strongly sloping to steep, well drained silty clay loams and silty clay. The weather in the region is excellent for growing winegrapes. The first rains arrive in late October to early November, with the heavy rains falling in February or March.

EOS Estate Winery provides many types of wines like EOS Reserve Wines, EOS Estate Wines, Cupa Grandis, Novella Wines and Arciero Wines. Their vineyard planting philosophy is different in that, before planting all rows, they are trenched with a back-hoe to 5 feet deep and 4 feet wide. By turning the soil to this depth, older soil from the hard pan is brought up to nourish young plants, and softer, more porous topsoil is mixed with deeper layers to boost vertical penetration by the roots.

At EOS Estate Winery they Dawn-harvest their premium wine grapes to keep the fruit cool and help ensure true varietal flavors in the finished wine. They support ones basic right to enjoy a steady supply of delicious Rhone-style wines not to mention a plenty of fine food and good cheer.
