Montevina Winery possesses 100 acres of estate vines, meticulously planted over the course of 45 years at 1500 to 2000 feet of elevation. It is situated in the Amador County which resembles the Napa Valley. The history of this winery dates back in early 1981. Situated at the epicenter of the Mother Lode, Amador County boomed for the duration of the California Gold Rush in the second half of the 1800's. Some of their most popular wines include Pinot Grigio, White Zinfandel, Wild Bunch Red, Wild Bunch White, Sauvignon Blanc, Sierra Foothills Zinfandel, Sierra Sunrise, Syrah, Barbera, Aglianico, Amador Zinfandel, Teroldego, Freisa and Zinfandel Port. The winery also conducts some of the events that include Plymouth Progressive Montevina Dinner, Dinner with Class Wine and Food Lesson and Cooking Demonstration featuring Montevina, Amador County Arts Council Winefest, Montevina Wine Club Appreciation Day and Club Appreciation Day.
Montevina has aligned two Zinfandel vineyards that include the Home Vineyard and SHR Field Blend Vineyard. These vineyards produce distinctive wines that are evidently very much unique from other ones. The goal of Montevina Winery‘s winemaking program is to create wines of uncompromising quality with optimum flavor and aromatic components that reflect the unique characteristics of the vineyards from which they come.
