California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. California's landscape is as diverse as its people. From foggy coastlines to dry endless deserts, lush green mountains to rolling hills of vineyards. A morning of snow boarding in the mountains and then ocean kayaking at sunset, this glorious Golden State offers it all.
 
Mosby winery and vineyard is located one mile south of Buellton, California, gateway to the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley of Santa Barbara County. Jeri and Bill Mosby are the owners of Mosby Winery and Vineyards. They are the producers of award-winning Cal-Ital wines from estate-grown fruit. While Mosby's specialty is the growing and vinification of fine Italian varietal wines, he also makes award-winning grappa, wild plum and raspberry distillatos. The ongoing search for interesting new varietals has resulted in vintage after vintage of award-winning Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Pinot Grigio and more.
 
The Mosby winery, estate and vineyards, are located at Highway 101 and Santa Rosa Road 1/4 mile south of Buellton, California, one of the earliest wineries in Santa Barbara County. The Mosby Winery Tasting Room is located in the restored de la Cuesta Carriage House near the old Adobe.  Mosby winery offers different type of winery like the 2004 Mosby Stelline di Cortese or Little Stars of Cortese, the 2004 Mosby Traminer, The 2005 Mosby Rosato di Sangiovese The 2002 Mosby Dolcetto, the 2004 Mosby Teroldego, the 2003 Mosby Primativo from the Lojocono Vineyard of San Luis Obispo County, real Primitivo country and  Lucca, Mosby Winery's red table wine.
 
Mosby participates in the Santa Barbara taste of the Town on the Riviera in Santa Barbara, the Harvest Festival at the Santa Barbara County Wineries and Holiday Celebration. Mosby Winery has won awards like the Gold medal in 2006 California State and was the Best of Class California State Appellation and was the Silver medal winner in 2006 San Diego International.
 
There are many wonderful famous as well as some not so well known areas in California Wine Country that are just right for an enjoyable day of wine tasting. It’s always best to get off the beaten track and find the other gold that still exists and enjoy the beautiful scenery along these wine trails in this beautiful State.
