Peju Province
California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. The four largest cities are Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco. California is also the home of and wine producing regions such as Santa Barbara and Northern California's Wine Country.
Peju Province Winery is recognized as one of Napa Valley's top wineries. Wine and Spirits Magazine gave its highest honor to Peju, naming it the Top Artisan Winery of the Year. Wine Spectator selected the Peju Reserve as one of the top California Cabernets. Most of the highly sought after wines are sold only from the winery, with a small allocation available through distributors in a few states, making them a special find.
Tony and Herta Peju founded Peju in Rutherford in 1982, before it was fashionable to own a small Napa Valley winery. Approaching Peju Province Winery, one will be greeted from a distance by a row of unusually pruned 40 foot Sycamore trees. It is upon entering the grounds of Peju Province that the meaning behind the winery's name becomes apparent. Vineyards, landscaping, art and architecture seem to form a separate world, created by the Peju family. Max Duley is currently the Executive Chief and Director of Hospitality for Peju Winery in Rutherford in the Napa Valley. He has developed a multi-tier tasting experience within the winery ranging from group tastings and blending seminars, to one of a kind food and wine educational pairings as well as designing special events for world class organizations and individuals.
Peju Province winery produce wines such as 2005 Carnival, 2005 Chardonnay, 2002 Liana, Provence, 2005 Carignane, 2003 Syrah, 2003 Merlot, 2003 Cabernet Franc, 2004 Zinfandel, 2003 Zinfandel Port, 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon with a new latest release, 2003 and 2002 Rutherford Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. One can invite friends to experience Peju Wine Club hospitality with their exclusive get-togethers for wine club members. Also they can enjoy after hours access to the winery and taste their latest releases. The goal of Peju Province winery winemaking program is to create wines of uncompromising quality with optimum flavor and aromatic components that reflect the unique characteristics of the vineyards from which they come.
