Robert Sinskey Vineyards

California
, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. The four largest cities are Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco. California is also the home of and wine producing regions such as Santa Barbara and Northern California's Wine Country.

With a humble start of just 15 acres of vineyard land in the early 80s, RSV, Robert Sinskey Vineyard’s has grown to just under 200 acres of main vineyard in five Carneros locations and a small 4.8 acre estate vineyard next to the winery in the Stags Leap district.Rob Sinskey, Winemaker Jeff Virnig and Vineyard Manager Kirk Grace, have created sole methods to grow and produce Pinot Noirs that are silky, elegant and complex.

Their philosophy is to support natural farming and winemaking practices by employing sustainable organic techniques influenced by biodynamic methods, establish a healthy, balanced vineyard surroundings beginning with the health of the soil, encourage vital biologic activity in the soil and prohibit the use of chemicals that can damage microorganisms.

They think that vineyards are the soul of the winery. It defines the style of the wine. All grapes used to make RSV wines are from vineyards planted by RSV. Robert Sinskey Vineyards is an organic farm. This means that all grapes used in making RSV wines have been certified organic by the California Certified Organic Farmers. Organic refers to methods of growing that rely on the earth's natural resources.

RSV’s Vineyards are SLD Estate Vineyard, Vandal Vineyard, Capa Vineyard, OSR Vineyard, Three Amigos Vineyard and Scintilla Sonoma Vineyard. RSV's 200 acres of vineyard are located in two distinct micro-climates. The small estate vineyard in the Stags Leap District is in a somewhat warmer region than the five Carneros vineyards. However, each of the Carneros vineyards has their own distinct micro-climates that permanently carve a distinctive character in each. The distinctions in climate and soil have suggested different farming technique, varieties and clones.

Presently, the demand for the wines produced by Robert Sinskey Vineyards far exceeds the supply almost since the first release. In the future, as in the past, the Sinskey Family intends to keep their production small so they can preserve their strict quality standards and continue to please their customers with typical handmade wines of notable intensity, balance and elegance.
