Sausal Winery
Sausal Winery is one of the California’s leading wineries that has grown through excellence and quality of wines offered. Located just outside of Healdsburg on Highway number 128, in the heart of Alexander Valley, Sausal is a small family owned winery that produces award winning wines. The winery is owned by the Demostene family that is dedicated to the pursuit of delicious Zinfandels, varieties best suited to the climate here and soils of beautiful vineyards.
Sausal Winery consistently produces premium estate bottled old vine zinfandels, family zinfandel, private reserve zinfandel, and century vine zinfandel. In addition to these, they also offer estate sangiovese and estate cabernet wines at reasonable prices. All vineyard and winery operations of Sausal are consistent with sustainable theme. The vineyards are farmed using sustainable practices leaving a gentle imprint on the land and have received certifications, an endorsement that Sausal is in accordance with the preservation of natural resources.
Every wine of different vineyards from Sausal are blend with unique aroma of flowers, fruits, spices and many more that roll on tongue. For example, Sausal Winery’s Century Vines features medium to dark ruby color which are attractive, herbal, briary, peppery, slightly jammy, raspberry and blackberry fruit aroma. The Old Vines are medium-dark ruby with black cherry and blackberry fruit aroma, notes of tobacco, black pepper, and creamy oak. The Private Reserve Zinfandel on the other hand is elegantly styled, with vivid wild berry and blackberry flavors, folding in nicely on the finish, making for a tidy package.
Winemaking at Sausal Winery is a dynamic process where diversity is created by tailoring vinification and cellar practices to the individual vineyard lots. Nevertheless, there is a crucial process that defines their idealistic approach and establishes a reference for maneuvers exclusively suited to each fermentation lot.
