Trentadue
California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. The four largest cities are Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco. California is also the home of and wine producing regions such as Santa Barbara and Northern California's Wine Country. In 1987, Leo Trentadue encouraged his winemaker to try out with fortified wines. An outstanding Petite Sirah Port resulted, among the very first of its kind. The wine was well received, so a Merlot Port was added to the line. Both wines have constantly earned top awards, including a Gold Best of Class at the 1997 National Orange Show. At present, Victor Trentadue is answerable for all vineyard and winery operations for his family’s winemaking estate. In 1995, he was among a little group of viticulturists selected to travel to Russia to share their expertise with this nation’s emerging wine community. Their current wines include Grand Cuvee, Sparkling Wine, 2005 Sauvignon Blanc, Dry Creek Valley, 2004 Old Patch Red, Sonoma County, 2003 Carignane, Alexander Valley Estate, 2003 Merlot, Alexander Valley Estate, 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2003 La Storia Petite Sirah, Alexander Valley Estate, 2003 La Storia "Cuvee 32", Alexander Valley, 2003 La Storia Meritage, Alexander Valley Estate, 2003 La Storia Zinfandel, Alexander Valley and 2005 Viognier Port. Events carried out by the winery include 24th Annual Sonoma County Showcase of Wine and Food 2004 Showcase, Annual Weekend Gala at wineries across Alexander Valley, Annual Barrel Tasting Weekend and 11th Annual Parade of Lights.
The goal of Trentadue‘s winemaking program is to create wines of uncompromising quality with optimum flavor and aromatic components that reflect the unique characteristics of the vineyards from which they come.
