Brentwood
California is the most populous state of the United States. Located on the Pacific coast of North America, it is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. California is known for its pleasant climate and ethnically diverse population. The name California is most commonly believed derived from a storied paradise peopled by black Amazons and ruled by Queen Califia.
Brentwood is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population of the city was 29,302 as of the 2000 census. Brentwood Cornfest is a food festival that features the sweet corn grown in the area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 30.2 square kilometers, out of which 30.1 square kilometers of its area is land and 0.09 percent is water.
In the city the population was spread out with 32.8 percent under the age of 18, 6.9 percent from 18 to 24, 33.4 percent from 25 to 44, 17.3 percent from 45 to 64, and 9.6 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.7 males. The city of Brentwood is made up of some great communities. Deer Ridge and Shadow Lakes is located in the South West part of the city surronded by a beautiful golf course. Some of the other great communities are Garin Ranch, Sterling Preserve, Ponderosa Crossroads, and Dream Catcher Ridge. Presently, Brentwood experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of California. This fact has consolidated along with other adjacent cities, as a great alternative for residence.
