Citrus Heights
California is the most populous state of the United States. Located on the Pacific coast of North America, it is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. California is known for its pleasant climate and ethnically diverse population. The name California is most commonly believed derived from a storied paradise peopled by black Amazons and ruled by Queen Califia. Citrus Heights is a municipality in Sacramento County, California, USA. In 2005, the population of the city was 86,272 and an area of 37.2 square kilometers. Throughout most of the Spanish-Mexican period of the growth of California, settlement was limited to a narrow coastal strip along El Camino Real, with only a few isolated frontier outposts of civilization. The city incorporated January 2, 1997, becoming only the fifth city in Sacramento County. In the city the population was spread out with 25.2 percent under the age of 18, 10.2 percent from 18 to 24, 30.3 percent from 25 to 44, 21.3 percent from 45 to 64, and 12.9 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 93.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.4 males.
