Clayton




California is the most populous state of the United States. Located on the Pacific coast of North America, it is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. California is known for its pleasant climate and ethnically diverse population. The name California is most commonly believed derived from a storied paradise peopled by black Amazons and ruled by Queen Califia.

Clayton is a municipality in Contra Costa County, California, United States. Clayton is also the location of the Clayton Club Saloon, which was established approximately in 1873. In 2005, the population of the city was 11,142 and an area of 10.2 square kilometers. In the city the population was spread out with 26.5 percent under the age of 18, 4.5 percent from 18 to 24, 28.5 percent from 25 to 44, 31.5 percent from 45 to 64, and 9.1 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 96.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.6 males.
A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Clayton is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
