Delano
California is the most populous state of the United States. Located on the Pacific coast of North America, it is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. California is known for its pleasant climate and ethnically diverse population. The name California is most commonly believed derived from a storied paradise peopled by black Amazons and ruled by Queen Califia. Delano is a city in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 38,824 inhabitants at the 2000 census. Delano is well known as a center for the growing of table grapes. Delano was founded on July 14, 1873 as a railroad town. The city has a total area of 26.3 square kilometers. In the city the population was spread out with 32.5 percent under the age of 18, 12.4 percent from 18 to 24, 32.7 percent from 25 to 44, 14.9 percent from 45 to 64, and 7.5 percent who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 129.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 143.1 males. Delano is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in California worth paying a visit while touring the country.
