Escondido
California is the most populous state of the United States. Located on the Pacific coast of North America, it is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. California is known for its pleasant climate and ethnically diverse population. The name California is most commonly believed derived from a storied paradise peopled by black Amazons and ruled by Queen Califia.
Escondido is a city located in northern San Diego County, California just north of San Diego, California, USA. The name means hidden in Spanish it occupies a shallow valley ringed by rocky hills. It was founded in 1888, it is one of the oldest cities in San Diego County. The city has a mild climate, a diverse economy and a growing population of 140,766 inhabitants. Escondido was originally settled by Native American tribes. Spain controlled the land from the late 1700's to the early 1800's, and established many missions in California to convert the indigenous people. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 94.5 square kilometers out of it 94.0 square kilometers it is land and 0.5 square kilometers of it is water. The total area is 0.52 percent water. Escondido is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in California worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place leaves a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justifies the proud cultural tradition of California.
