Gilroy
California is the most populous state of the United States. Located on the Pacific coast of North America, it is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. California is known for its pleasant climate and ethnically diverse population. The name California is most commonly believed derived from a storied paradise peopled by black Amazons and ruled by Queen Califia. Gilroy is the southmost city in Santa Clara County, California, USA. According to the United States 2000 Census, the city population was 41,464 inhabitants. Long-time local landmarks include Bonfante Gardens Family Theme Park, formerly Treehaven. The community was reportedly named for John Cameron Gilroy, one of the first area settlers of European ancestry. Bonfante Gardens Family Theme Park is a non-profit horticultural-themed family theme park in Gilroy, California and is the home of the world-famous Circus Trees created by Axel Erlandson. The Park opened in June 2001 and now has 19 rides, 27 attractions and 6 gardens. Gilroy is also known as the city of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
