Paramount
California is the most populous state of the United States. Located on the Pacific coast of North America, it is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. Paramount is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 55,266 inhabitants. Paramount is part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.5 square kilometers. Paramount was created in 1948 from the merger of the cities of Hynes and Clearwater, and is said to be named after the Paramount Pictures movie studio.
As of the census of 2000, there were 55,266 people, 13,972 households, and 11,331 families residing in the city. The population density was 4,511.3 per square kilometers.
