As of the census of 2000, there were 133,936 people, 51,844 households, and 29,862 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,238.7 per square kilometers. The original inhabitant of Pasadena and surrounding areas was the Native American Hahamog-na tribe, a branch of the Tongva.
