Ridgecrest

Ridgecrest, incorporated as a city in 1963 as Crumville, is located in the Indian Wells Valley in northeastern Kern County, California adjacent to the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. The population was 24,927 inhabitants at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 55.6 square kilometers. As of the census of 2000, there were 24,927 people, 9,826 households, and 6,691 families residing in the city. The population density was 455.5 per square kilometers.
