Rohnert Park is a city in Sonoma County, California, United States. The population was 42,236 at the 2000 census. It was an early planned city modeled directly after Levittown, New York and Levittown, Pennsylvania. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 16.7 square kilometers. As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 42,236 people, 15,503 households, and 9,797 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,536.1 per square kilometers.
Rohnert Park is also home to Sonoma County's only gravity hill, located on the western slopes of Sonoma Mountain above Sonoma State University.
